Fairfield-based Canadian artist Greg Thatcher has spent almost three decades crafting elaborate drawings and multi-media pieces that explore the surprising beauty of ancient yew trees. An exhibition of his work, entitled Sacred Yews, opens Saturday, February 1, 3-5 p.m., at the Des Moines Botanical Center.</p>
