“This drawing was completed over two summers, requiring approximately 450 hours on location. My inspiration here came from how the boughs and foliage of the tree extend out in a wave-like motion. The viewer is drawn into the composition and is moved from one side of the tree to the other. This large print has an additional 60 hours of hand-coloring to clarify all the relationships following the enlargement process.” — Greg Thatcher
