“This was a commissioned drawing done this summer. Margaret and her husband sponsored one of the yew trees in St. Mary’s churchyard in Painswick to help pay for the upkeep of the yew trees. In the summer of 2024, Margaret approached me to do a drawing of their tree as she had lost her husband and wanted to honor and remember her husband by having a drawing done. I was honored by her request and decided to do a mixed media plein air color drawing for her. I wanted the drawing to be expressive and full of color.” — Greg Thatcher
