Dwarf Yew description:
“This is another 2024 commissioned picture. The drawing is of a damaged Yew Tree from Saint Mary’s churchyard in Painswick. This tree was part of four yew trees that had grown together to form a gorgeous beautiful stand of trees. Over the years of heavy rains and strong winds the fourth tree fell over onto a chest tomb that saved the tree from completely uprooting itself. The church decided to leave the root intact and let the tree regenerate using the tomb as a support. The drawing documents the growth and how the tome and tree support each other.
This is the second drawing that I have done of this survivor tree, one of my favorite trees in the churchyard.” — Greg Thatcher
